Memorable Crash Page

Here are a few pics of crashes that have happened at the TRCA field, submitted for all the world to see...  anyone submitting a crash pic is welcome to suggest "excuses" for the crash, otherwise I will just make something up!

Come on, I know there have been a lot more crashes than this- send me pics!

Fall 2006

Chad's Cap-580 did a cart wheel down the runway and ended up in two pieces.  He has since repaired it and made it airworthy again!

Fall 2005

Here are the remains of Chad's first Arrow trainer, crashed during a landing approach (looks like quite a high-speed approach to me!)

At the time of this posting, Chad's second Arrow is still flying... I think.

Spring 2005

I believe that this Alpha found its way into a tree on landing approach during instruction.  Who was at the sticks? And who was the student?

(We'll keep it confidential unless they 'fess up!)

By the way, to my knowledge this is the only instructor-error crash ever at the TRCA club.

Spring 2005

I don't have details on this one, but it certainly doesn't look good.

(Anyone that knows what happened please fill me in!)

March 2005

I lost the radio while flying my 150-size H9 P51 Mustang over "the Triangle".

After having so much success NOT having technical problems with planes I build, this one made up for it...

January 2004

Ben's Nextsar crahed into a tree during a long, long, long landing approach.  Getting it out of the tree was so much fun I posted a special photo page for it!

The plane was repaired but crashed into the exact same tree a year later... enough said.

Who was Ben's instructor?  :)

April 2003

This is one for the history books, probably the most dramatic (and expensive) crash ever at the TRCA field.  Monty's big Staudacher and Walt's 4*40 met head-on at high speed and both planes were totally destroyed long before they hit the ground!

The real question- did Monty run into Walt or did Walt run into Monty???
